ACTION PLAN 5 STATES | 9 RACES
Defend Democracy
The 2022 Midterm Elections will determine if we hold on to our democracy or lose it to anti-democratic forces. Here’s how:
What’s happening nationally
147 members of Congress voted to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. They have increasingly supported anti-democratic ideologies in the time since then. In the past two years, Election Deniers running for office have openly rallied against certifying election results with which they disagree. If we do not vote to keep Election Deniers in the minority in 2022 (they only need to flip 6 seats to gain a majority), the 2024 presidential election will be chosen by them rather than the voters.
What’s happening with states
Who runs our elections is now the biggest threat to our democracy. Our national elections are administered by states. State officials–Governors, Secretaries of State, Attorneys General–act as our election referees, controlling whether elections are free and fair. An increasing number of Election Deniers have won primary elections this year and are on the ballot for statewide offices in the Midterm Elections.
Pro-democracy Governors, Secretaries of State, and Attorneys General are critical lines of defense.
THE PLAN TO SAVE DEMOCRACY
In 5 battleground states where Election Deniers are on the ballot and could win decisive control over how elections are run, Plus1Vote is driving voter engagement, education, registration, and turnout.
These are the races with candidates who have declared outright that they would not have certified the 2020 election:
Arizona
Governor, Attorney General, and Secretary of State
Michigan
Governor, Attorney General, and Secretary of State
Nevada
Secretary of State
Pennsylvania
Governor and Secretary of State (Gov. nominated)
Wisconsin

VOTE TO SAVE DEMOCRACY
Whether all our votes will be counted in future elections is under attack. Who runs our elections is now the biggest threat to our democracy. Pro-democracy Governors, Secretaries of State, and Attorneys General are the reason the efforts to overturn the 2020 election failed. We will lose that line of defense if we don’t organize pro-democracy voters in the Midterm Elections.
